Amasaman is a small town and the capital of Ga West Municipal district, a district in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. It is located in Ghana about 13 mi (or 20 km) north-west of Accra, the country’s capital.
The Ga West Municipal is one of the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana. The municipality was carved out of the erstwhile Ga Municipal which was created in 1988 in pursuance of the government decentralization and local government reform policy.
